Good Jobs: Creating Opportunities for Colorado Families
Rein in Costly, Onerous Regulations
Colorado’s regulatory environment is stifling economic growth and driving businesses away. The Colorado Legislature has created a climate where starting and operating a business is increasingly challenging. As Loren Furman noted in The Gazette, “Colorado has over three times as many regulatory mandates as Arizona, adding over 10,000 mandates in just the past five years.” These excessive regulations are making Colorado less competitive and hindering our ability to attract and retain businesses.
In the Colorado Chamber’s most recent business poll, 46% of business leaders stated they plan to make future investments out of state—an alarming trend that threatens good-paying jobs for Colorado families.
As your representative, I will advocate for:
- A regulatory moratorium to halt new mandates until their impact on businesses and workers is fully assessed.
- Strict cost-benefit analyses for any proposed regulations to ensure they serve Coloradans without undue harm to job creators.
- Repealing burdensome regulations currently on the books that unnecessarily impede economic growth.
By cutting red tape, we can restore Colorado’s competitive edge and create an environment where businesses and workers can thrive.
End Corporate Welfare
The government’s role should not be to choose winners and losers in the marketplace. Corporate subsidies and preferential tax treatments distort the economy, foster unfair competition, and leave taxpayers footing the bill.
This principle is particularly important in Colorado’s energy industry, where state lawmakers have doubled down on punitive regulations that mirror Joe Biden’s anti-energy agenda. These policies hurt workers, drive up energy costs, and put Colorado businesses at a disadvantage.
I will fight for a level playing field, ensuring that all businesses—whether large or small, in energy or other sectors—have a fair chance to compete. By ending corporate welfare and promoting free-market principles, we can foster a more dynamic economy that benefits everyone, not just a select few.
Colorado deserves good jobs and a vibrant economy. Together, we can build a future where businesses flourish, families prosper, and opportunity abounds.
