Bringing New Ideas Home: Investing in Colorado’s Future at the Early Childhood Leadership Summit

I was truly honored to be in Washington, D.C.,last month for The Hunt Institute’s Early Childhood Leadership Summit. It was an incredible opportunity to learn alongside dedicated education leaders and policymakers from every corner of the USA, all focused on one critical goal: building stronger early childhood systems for our nation’s children.

The research is clear: early childhood success is a foundational issue for our state’s long-term prosperity, strong communities, and economic health. As a long-time leader in early childhood education (you can learn more about my background here), I’m proud to represent Senate District 13 and all of Colorado as we engage in these vital national discussions. The Summit has armed me with fresh perspectives and actionable solutions to bring back to the Capitol, ensuring we can deliver the best possible start for our kids.

What to Expect from Colorado’s Next Legislative Session (And Why It Matters)

As we look toward the 2026 legislative session, my focus remains squarely on delivering real solutions that reflect the conservative values and common-sense priorities of District 13. My legislative agenda, which you can read in detail on my Issues page, will be shaped by the need for:

Consistent Values in Changing Times: Preparing for Colorado’s 2026 Legislative Priorities

Early childhood is a natural nexus for my core priorities, affordability, better education, and safer communities. Investing in this area isn’t just ‘social spending’; it’s an economic development tool that helps families afford to work and improves long-term educational outcomes.

We must focus on the efficiency and sustainability of our new early childhood structure, addressing workforce shortages, and ensuring our investments truly reach the families who need them most.

What to Expect from Colorado’s Next Legislative Session (And Why It Matters)

Expect me to champion policies that:

  1. Reduce the Cost of Living: This includes fighting for property tax relief and pushing back against unnecessary government fees and regulations that harm working families.
  2. Promote Education Freedom: We must empower parents to choose the best educational options for their children, from pre-K through high school, ensuring funding follows the student.
  3. Strengthen Public Safety: I will continue to advocate for common-sense policies that keep violent criminals off the streets.

I am committed to putting these conservative principles into action. I can’t do this alone. Your voice and support are essential. I encourage you to see how you can Get Involved with my efforts to build a stronger, more prosperous future rooted in our conservative principles.

Proud to represent our state and help shape the future, together.
