As the holiday season approaches and temperatures drop, many of us look forward to warm gatherings. Yet, for some of our nation’s heroes, the winter months bring unique and profound challenges. Increased stress during the holidays makes accessing local support services critical. This season, let’s focus on Honoring Service through direct community action: donating, giving, and getting involved.
Addressing Winter Challenges with Local Support

The colder months bring distinct challenges for veterans, particularly those struggling with the mental wounds of service. The holidays, while a time of joy for many, can be a period of heightened stress, isolation, and depression for veterans. In Weld County and Brighton, we must remain vigilant. Our communities have a moral obligation to ensure those who sacrificed so much for our freedoms are not left behind.
Take Action: Donate and Give to Local Services
The most immediate way to make an impact is by supporting the organizations on the front lines. I encourage every constituent to identify and donate directly to local veteran support centers, food banks, and assistance groups in the Weld County area this season.
Your contributions directly fund the essential services that our veterans rely on for stability and well-being.
A Focus on Sustainable Success: Good Jobs and the 2026 Session
Beyond immediate needs, my commitment remains focused on long-term solutions that provide dignity and stability. A core part of my legislative focus for the 2026 session is ensuring veterans have access to Good Jobs and career opportunities. This means reforming the costly regulatory environment that hinders business growth and job creation in Colorado.
Our 2026 Legislative Focus on Veterans includes:
- Enhancing Job Training & Employment Services: Championing policies that connect veterans’ unique skills to high-demand careers, removing barriers to licensing, and ensuring they have priority access to resources. This includes:
- Cutting Red Tape: Advocating for a regulatory moratorium and cost-benefit analyses for proposed regulations to make Colorado more competitive and encourage businesses to hire.
- Promoting Fair Competition: Fighting to end corporate welfare so small businesses can grow and offer more opportunities for veterans.
- Improving Access to Safe Living: Developing sustainable, long-term solutions that ensure every veteran has a stable and secure place to live.
This focus on creating Good Jobs: Creating Opportunities for Colorado Families is essential to ensure that when veterans transition from military service, they are immediately positioned for a thriving civilian career.
Your Commitment: Get Involved Today!
I can only fight for these policies and programs in Denver with your strong support back home. We need your help to ensure our veterans’ voices are heard and these vital resources are secured.
Whether it’s volunteering your time, making a financial donation to a local veteran charity, or simply reaching out to a veteran in your neighborhood, every action counts.
Do your part this season.
Get Involved with our campaign and with your local support services to ensure Colorado is a state where every veteran can live with dignity and thrive.
